Elly Tran Ha was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to a Chinese father and Vietnamese mother. The family moves back to Shanghai, China in 2000. In 2005, Her father was stationed in Canada, while the next year, Elly Tran Ha, her mom and her brother moved to New Jersey, U.S.
